WHO WE ARE
For over 43 years, the North Yonkers Community Fund has been dedicated to supporting the local community by providing scholarships to deserving students. Through its three flagship fundraiser events – the Golf Outing, Chili Hilly 5K, and Strikes for Scholars – the organization raises vital funds to finance these educational opportunities.
With a mission rooted in charitable giving and community empowerment, the North Yonkers Community Fund has become a cornerstone of the area, offering a helping hand to families in need and championing local initiatives that make a positive impact.

WHAT WE DO
Golf Outing
Our yearly Golf Outing is a tradition that traces its roots back to the visionary ideas of our founding committee members, Walter “Goose” Ineson and Al “How Do” Fitzpatrick. Recognizing the need for additional scholarship funds and the natural transition from softball to golf as players age, they astutely proposed this event. Their forward-thinking proposal laid the foundation for a cherished tradition. Bringing together golfers of all skill levels, the Golf Outing has withstood the test of time, fostering a spirit of friendly competition and camaraderie on the greens year after year.
5K Run/Walk
Our annual 5K Run/Walk which began with 250 participants and a $7,000 donation to the Lead The Way Fund has grown into a beloved tradition, attracting 400 to 500 runners and walkers each year. We launched it in 2012 with the aim of supporting worthy local charities. Through this event, we have had the privilege of contributing over $10,000 annually to esteemed organizations such as the Lead The Way Fund, Elizabeth Seton Children’s Hospital, The Miracle League, Feeding Westchester, and the Fuller House.
Strikes for Scholars
Introduced just six years ago, our Strikes for Scholars February event has swiftly become a cherished annual tradition, drawing over 200 bowlers of all skill levels to the lanes. With each strike and spare, we collectively contribute approximately $6,000 to our general community fund, supporting local initiatives and scholarships. Strikes for Scholars stands as a testament to the power of unity and shared purpose, eagerly anticipated by participants who revel in the joy of giving back.
